Jamie Ramsay grew up moving all around Canada, from Saskatchewan, to the NorthWest Territories, to Manitoba, to British Columbia. She has always loved traveling, and spent most of her life sled dog racing with her family all around the country. Jamie has always thrived in creative spaces, and has been constantly creating stories, plays, and movies since she was a child, whether at home with her siblings, at school, or at summer acting camps. Art has always been a constant in her life: Jamie is a writer, singer/songwriter, painter/drawer, figure skater, and an actor.
Throughout her life as a young adult, Jamie explored different kinds of work. She worked for her mum’s independently owned business, sewing and manufacturing dog harnesses, then moving onto retail at her local dollar store, then she worked as a union housekeeper at her local ski resort for many years, and finally as a server/bartender for the years to follow, during her time living in Vancouver, BC.
After graduating highschool, Jamie attended a one month intensive acting program in Los Angeles, called the New York Film Academy, and then went on to continue her studies in acting at Langara College, in Vancouver, BC. During her time in school, Jamie gained lots of experience in many departments of film. She was the lead actor on many of the short films, as well as the producer, 2nd AC, and grip on many others.
